湯たんぽ a hot water bottle
The thing I have wanted to buy since last winter is a hot water bottle. In Japan, it is a kind of retro-style thing and not many people use it now. Actually, I have never used it in my life though my parents or grandparents were using it long time ago. Searching on the internet, I found that hot water bottles are very common in England and you can get it easily at convenience stores for low price. They also sell various kinds of hot-water-bottle bags (covers ) with the design of animal or cute character for kids. This was surprising, because I had the image that hot water bottles are very old fashioned. Also found that most of the hot water bottles in Japan are products for babies or for hospital use. Still cannot decide what kind of bottles I would buy, metal, rubber, plastic, or ceramic. Already excited about sawing the bag (cover ) for it from my favorite cloth. Recently it's getting so cold and I really need it. In Japanese it is called "Yutanpo", just sounds very cute.

Oh I love hot water bottles too! I often use one, even though its not really that cold in the house in Vancouver... when I go to Blair's house I sometimes even fill up an empty rum bottle with hot water..it really works too! Please take a photo of yours when you get it...
Oh, is it common in Canada, too? Here, I cannot find anybody at my age who has ever used it.
