Reunion

14 years ago, we were working in the same office. Our office was filled with laughs, complaints, a lot of documents and phone calls, and the weirds. The common topic between us was when to quit, but in a sense, we all enjoyed working in that company, especially the time to spend with people of individuality. Our division was in charge of the transportation and installation of artworks, for sale or for exhibition, for import or for export. However, most of the people working there seemed nothing to do with "ART," and the values ― I mean unreasonable prices ―of the artworks had no reality and were like something from a different world.
Last weekend, we had a reunion. 9 of us gathered at the Korean town in Tokyo and kept talking more than 3 hours over delicious korean dishes. When working in that company, I hadn't expected that we would have such a great party after many years. Realized that I had liked my colleagues and my job so much. Hope to see them again.

14年前に働いていた会社の女の子たちが9人集まって同窓会をしました。美術品を扱う部署で、美術品とはおよそ縁のない雰囲気の個性的な面々の集まる、とても濃い日々でした。作品につけられた法外な評価額は、私たちの生活とはかけ離れたもので、物の価値なんて水モノだと感じながら働いていたなあ。みんな会社に不満だらけで転職の話ばっかりしてたけど、今思えば本当に楽しい毎日だった。辞めたことを後悔したことはないけど、仕事も同僚も好きでした。あの頃のことをこんな風に思い出す日が来るなんて不思議です。 一緒に働いていた彼女たちは、いつ会っても「仲間」という気がしました。
