WHAT IS THIS?

While digging up bamboo roots, I DISCOVERED a huge concrete plate. The size is approximately 1.5 m long, 1.5 m wide, 15 cms thick. WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS? Definitely, it was not something I had expected to find under the ground. Apparently it is a waste from construction. By whom and when was it buried? My house is about 40 years old, so it might be buried 40 years ago. There also must be some more other things that would surprise me. Surprised? no, I am annoyed!

spring cooking

I picked yomogi, or Japanese mugwort, from my garden and made kusamochi. The flavour was so good.

A holiday in Toyooka village

It was such a hot day. We went digging bamboo shoots. It is almost the end of the bamboo shoots season, but we dug up this many.

This is the fish I caught, and it was made into delicious tempura.
